Tips For Doing Comfy Casual…Because I Consider Myself an Expert At This

Alright my friends.  I don’t do dressy during the week.  9 times out of 10 I’m scooping a 3-year-old stinker out of the creek at the boys school, so nice wedges just aren’t going to do it.  They would end up in the garage in the dirty shoe line up.  So, I’ve been perfecting the art of the comfy casual.  It’s not workout wear, it’s not a high heel(nothing wrong with being more fancy momma…to each his own).  This look lands in the middle.  Sort of.

Comfy sweatshirt…that looks like a real top.

I’ve posted about this top before in my Thanksgiving week Friday favorites.  You can read that post here.  This is a New Balance top that is seriously so comfy.  It’s the perfect way to feel comfortable and look like you put a little effort into it.

Holy Skinny Jeans

I’m a huge fan of skinny jeans.  Especially soft distressed ones.  I got these at Old Navy years ago, but you can find a cute pair anywhere.  Right now Gap is doing free shipping with a $50 min order.

Here is one of my faves from target.  It goes with anything and you can easily throw it on over a t-shirt with skinny jeans and flat boots or Converse.  No one will know you didn’t shower or wash your hair.  Not that I know from experience or anything.

This is another one I’ve posted about before from Athleta.  I bought this last year and it’s hands down one of my favorite pieces.  It’s so comfortable and versatile.  It can take you from yoga pants to jeans, heals or boots and some cute accessories.

Cute scarves

So a scarf can turn a regular t-shirt into a cute little look.  This scarf is from Target, but one of my favorite places to get scarves is from Eclectic Joy Shop. I met the owner(Corey) of this shop at a woman’s conference I went to last Spring, bought a scarf for myself and for Lila(her little girl scarves are to die for).  She’s a doll and her work is amazing.  Here is an example of one of her scarves…

Cute right??!!  So many options that I feel like maybe I could get stuck ordering way too many scarves.  Is there such a thing??

This is one of my faves from Lulu.  It’s called the Go the Distance Vest.  Again, it’s made it into my Friday Favorites but I had to include it in this post.  You can find a cute vest anywhere at just about any price point.  And you don’t need an entire wardrobe of them . Again, this can go from running pants to jeans and boots.  Boom.

Cute vintage T’s

We have an adorable local shop called Suburban Chic.  The owner Asenet has become a friend through our businesses and mutual friends. Her shop is adorable and she’s also a wardrobe stylist.  She has some awesome vintage t’s…

I also love this Texas T-shirt that I just ordered from a cute little Etsy shop named The Home T.

Throw one of those cute cardigans over a vintage T and you’re all set.

Ok ya’ll.  That does it!! If you aren’t a fancy gal, these looks are for you.  Cute, seasonal, versatile and COMFORTABLE.  Because who has time to run around the muddy playground in heals?  Not this momma.  But again, if heels are your jam, go for it momma.  Have a great day!!

What’s your favorite way to do cute casual?

  1. Heather…ME TOOOOOO!!!!!! So glad you added that top to your Christmas list!!! I’m all about the t-shirt lately=)

  2. Comfy casual is my love language! I struggle to buy new clothes unless they are “comfortable” which is why most of the time I am not “stylish” lol!

I the first shirt you posted…added it to my Christmas list 🙂
