Friday Favorites: A Big Ole Giant Thank you Post

It’s totally that time again.  How is it Friday already? Seriously.  My brain is so scattered with the craziness that is life right now.  I walked in to drop my daughter off at pre-school yesterday and saw a sign saying the 4’s class for next year was full.  What the what?!?!  She’s not 4, but that means registration is open and SPOTS. ARE. FILLING!!!!  How on earth?!  I NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED preschool.  How in the name of all that is good did I miss this?! This is a testament to how crazy our life is at the moment.  The most important day of the year, preschool registration(yes, it supersedes birthdays and Christmas), came and went without my knowledge.  Completely.  And now it’s open to the public?  Shoot.  So, I sped home….purse less(because in the craziness of a Thursday morning, I walked off without my purse)…..and registered Lila ASAP.

Don’t get me wrong, she is my absolute favorite thing on the planet.  But that girl needs school.  She thrives on maturity and purpose and functionality.  All things that staying home with her scatter brained no plan ever mom does not give her.  So, she will be going to school.  There were 16 spots left and I snagged one.  Hallelujah, praise Jesus.  That is all.

Ok, so Friday Favorites.  I’m kind of at a loss this week to be honest.  I didn’t have a lot of things that stuck out to me as must have’s or must share’s.  I’ve been so buried in studying for my PTC exam that I’m kind of out of the loop with the rest of life.  This does not bode well for a mom of 3.  Kids kinda need a mom’s brain to be present as much as possible.  At the moment, mine is not.  I asked Jake where my head has been lately and he promptly responded with, “Oh, totally out in space mom!”  Nice.  Thank you son.

Rambling again.  So I’ve decided to can my Friday Favorites this week in favor of a big mushy thank you post to all you glorious and amazing readers.  Prepare yourselves.

Wednesday I did a little post and Giveaway(click here to go check it out) about experiencing joy in the journey and another post last week about being real(to check that out, click here...but please come back because this is important).  I need to just take a moment to say thank you to those of you who took the time to comment and for those of you who put up with me week after week.  Oh and if you still want to earn a chance to win a Momentum Wrap or foot note, the giveaway is live through this evening.

To be totally honest with ya’ll there have been several moments over the past 8 months when I have considered canning this whole blog thing.  It takes time and nurturing and love and stuff I don’t always have to give it.  Sometimes I wonder if it’s worth it.  Am I connecting with people?  Am I providing quality content(because this is what ALL the “how to be a successful blogger” post’s I’ve googled say is necessary)?  Is it valuable?  Does anyone even read this stuff?  All things I’ve thought at one time or another.  I kid you not.  Every time I’ve come close to phoning this in(thanks Jillian Michaels for that awesome expression.  It makes zero sense to me), I get an email or a comment on a post that turns it all around for me.  Sometimes I want to jump through my computer screen and give ya’ll a giant hug.  Since I can’t do that and it would creep you out if I did it in person, I’ll just write it.

Thank you.  Thank you for your comments and your emails.  Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read what I have to say.  I understand that it’s a sacrifice of your time to sit down and read a blog.  Please know I am so grateful you choose to do so.

For those that commented on the Joy in the Journey post.  I seriously contemplated just buying all of you exactly what you said you would pick!!!!!  I can not even.  Your comments were so sincere and I LOVED reading them.  Thank you for taking the time to share things that are real and true to your lives.  It’s a giant blessing to me and I needed you to know that, especially since my hubby would probably kill me if I bought 30 something bracelets to mail out.  So thank you.  You keep me going when I feel like quitting or when I question this entire process.

Happy Friday friends and I promise next week we’ll get back to cool sports bra’s and fun running shoes and such.  Have a great weekend!!  Stay tuned to my IG feed(@redheadontherun_1) tonight for the announcement of the winner.  I’ll pop on the post from the other day to notify you as well.

Thanks again for being total rock stars.  Words aren’t even an adequate representation of how deeply grateful I am to you.

  1. Judith…this made my day. Somehow I missed several comments when this post went public and honestly, today, I needed to see this. As I sometimes struggle with how much energy, time and money to put into the blog, I’m always encouraged by those of you that read and comment. It reminds me why I do this. So, no doubt I was meant to see this a month later, on a day when I really needed it. So thank you friend!!!!

  2. Karen…thank you!! Not sure if you saw my other comments but I’m just realizing the response to ya’ll never got published. I’m so sorry!! So thank you. Thank you for reading and for being so sweet to comment and take the time from your day to stop by the blog. I appreciate you so much!!!

  3. Kato..thanks for your kind words. I had a glitch with my blog where I saw this comment, thought I had responded but it never here I am a month later!!! Thanks for reading and for your encouragement!!

  4. I’m just now noticing these comments that I never saw!!! I’m so sorry. Blogger fail=) Yes, I caught some major air that day haha. Yes great reminder. It is fun and I love this outlet too..thanks for all your encouragement!!

  5. I love love love your blog! When you say “The struggle is real, people!” I laugh every time! As a running mother of three myself, it is SO encouraging to know that I am not the only one trying my best (and sometimes failing) to fit it all in some days!! You tell it like it is with no sugarcoating (except real sugar! ) and folks appreciate that! Thank you for the messy house pictures. What relief that all your laundry is not done immediately. Your genuine spirit and energy and humor are a gift! Keep the good stuff coming!!!!

  6. I love your blog! It is my favorite bc it is so real! So many FB, IG and blogs just show perfection, and that isn’t reality. I can relate to your blog bc you show that you are human. Please don’t stop writing 🙂

  7. Honestly, this blog is the most relatable, down to earth, refreshing blog that I read. It’s a zero fake zone; and that kind of honesty in a pinterest obsessed, photo shopped world is hard to come by.

  8. Not sure if I’m more impressed with you clicking your heels or the amount of air you are catching! I totally struggle as well with the posting thing and some days there is just nothing left in my mom brain. But I have to keep reminding myself this is an outlet for me and if I stress over it it is not fun. Have a super weekend! It’s going to be beautiful!
