A Quick Update…and My Stroke Story Over on Women’s Running

Hello and happy Wednesday!

I’ve missed being posting these past few days and hope you guys are doing awesome.  I’ve taken a bit of a step back this week from the blogging/social media world.  Not a big deal really, just needed some time to focus on my heart and mind and family.  I needed a re-set.  I’m popping in today because I wanted to let you know that one of my posts is being featured over on Women’s Running so I wanted to post the link in case you missed the original.

I’m thankful for the opportunity Women’s Running gives regular runner’s like me.  I’m not a skilled writer, although I love to write.  I don’t have a journalism degree.  I’m not a natural born runner, although I love to run.  I’m not a famous blogger.  I’m a wife and a mom.  Taking care of my family and working and cleaning pee off toilets and helping my kids make valentines boxes(why oh why is this a thing? What is wrong with a gallon size ziplock?).  I’m here for you.  To encourage(hopefully) you.  I hope when you land on this blog, you find a place to fit in.  To relate.  To be understood and to get something of value.  Because that’s why I’m here.

Taking a step back this week has been so good.  To remember that the world doesn’t stop when I don’t post a picture of my run on Instagram.  And while I am so thankful for those outlets, sometimes stepping back from the things that can consume your mind and time is a good thing.  It’s good to re-set.  To be reminded of WHY you do what you do day in and day out.  Yesterday I went for a run, just because.  No one knew.  No gopro, no twitter shout, no hashtag’s for what I was wearing.  Nothing.  And you guys..it was glorious.  Well, the run totally and completely sucked, but remaining anonymous this week has been somewhat refreshing.   I’ll get back to it, but perhaps with a bit more balance and space.  And next week the blog will be back in full swing.  I have some exciting things coming that I’ve been able to brainstorm and think through this week.

So, thanks for stopping by and remaining so faithful as I navigate this crazy world of blogging and life.  Of running and family and all the good stuff.  And run on over to Women’s Running if you don’t mind and give the post a like and maybe a kind word or two.  It would be awesome.  See you guys on Monday!!

  1. thank you Heather!!! Glad to be back to it this week!! Thanks for your encouragement..hope you have an awesome week!!!

  2. Wow! I have never read your story about the stroke before. I get occular migraines all the time with no headache. Once I completely lost control of one of my legs and they sent me through all sorts of testing looking for MS. It definitely made me appreciate how healthy I am most days and I definitely learned to listen to my body.

  3. Congrats on being featured on Women’s Running! You may not have a journalism degree, but you sure do have way with words…and are a constant inspiration!

Glad you enjoyed your week of anonymity, but glad to see you back 🙂
